The following should always be kept in mind when playing with strategies: When betting on single numbers, known in roulette as jargon Plein, it is generally expected that the player will tip the employees of the casino in the event of a win in the amount of the simple bet. This means that the payout is no longer de facto 35: 1, but is only 34: 1 for a winning number.
The winner usually doesn’t notice the difference in the intoxication of victory, but in the long run, this means a very significant disadvantage. The situation is very similar when betting on two numbers next to each other on the betting table (what is called Cheval in roulette jargon): In this case, if one of the two numbers falls, half of the original bet is usually expected as a tip. Just like hitting a number, this leads to a 2.7% advantage reduction over the other available bets. With regard to a sensible strategy, this is of outstanding importance in the long run.
Martingale – A disastrous system
Roulette beginners in particular love this strategy, probably because it is so easy to use, and despite its continued popularity among enthusiasts who have believed they have reinvented the wheel, it is a non-working roulette system. With the plethora of people who have already tried it, casinos would otherwise have gone bankrupt a long time ago.
The basic idea behind the Martingale game is not that wrong. Theoretically, you could make a profit with sufficient funds, but in reality, you always fail: either in the loss of your entire capital or at the table limits of the casinos – they only accept a certain amount of money per bet and round when playing roulette. If the accumulation of losses was inevitable in the long run, the table limit would be exceeded quickly, and the losses incurred could not be made up for with the next bet. The problem with this roulette system is that it simply doesn’t work in the long run, but in the short term, the prospect of small winnings isn’t bad at all.
D’Alembert system
The D’Alembert system is considered the safest of all roulette systems. First of all, and that’s probably the biggest advantage, it brings the greatest chance of a profit. This means that you can make mistakes less often in the heat of the moment.
The D’Alembert system assumes a number of gains and losses. You start with a certain bet and then continue your game based on the result of the previous round. With this system, the bets are placed on the simple chances. So you bet on the colors, the even and odd numbers or the number series 1 to 18 or 19 to 36. In the D’Alembert system, you react to a win and a loss quite simply: If you win: This is how you lower the bet by 1. If you lose, you increase the stake by 1.
